Summary:

"A New York State budget agreement that will make public college tuition free for students from families that earn less than $125,000 included an $8 million investment in promoting and distributing open educational resources for college students, Inside Higher Ed reported. The agreement will make the materials available for students at the state's two major public university systems, the State University and City University of New York. The systems have been urged to focus on high-enrollment courses, with the goal of minimizing or eliminating textbook costs for those courses."
