"The Access Services Librarian will be responsible for the supervision and organization of the Access Services Department including supervising, hiring, training, and evaluating managers and part-time employees. This individual will propose, implement, and review departmental policies and procedures and will also produce well-written circulation and interlibrary loan policy documentation, and patron-related educational and marketing materials. The successful candidate will maintain the circulation module of the III Millennium integrated library system and the OCLC WorldShare interlibrary loan system. Additionally, the ASL will compile and report statistics for circulation and interlibrary loan activity. This individual will maintain library hours, including ensuring that the library is opened and closed on time, that proper staffing is scheduled, and that delegated tasks are completed. Some evening and/or weekend hours may be required. This position supervises all aspects of stack and collection maintenance. The ASL will develop, supervise and maintain course reserves in all formats, including ensuring copyright compliance when appropriate, and supervise all aspects of the reserve collection, including but not limited to selection, weeding, and maintenance of the collection. This position also coordinates issues of equipment and facilities maintenance with the appropriate offices. This individual will help maintain and promote the law school's contribution to the University's open access institutional repository. The successful candidate will keep abreast of developments in technology related to circulation, course reserves, interlibrary loan, and scholarly endeavors and actively participate in the School of Law and University of South Carolina communities, as well as the profession of law librarianship."
