"Funder requirements for open access

Research should be published in compliance with funder open access requirements. Research funding (including grant numbers) should be acknowledged in all publications, in addition to a data access statement.

Check terms and conditions of your research grant for open access obligations. Check your funder open access policy (if applicable) for further information. SHERPA/JULIET provides an overview of funder open access policies.

You may be able to meet your funder requirements depositing a copy of your paper to a repository (self-archiving or 'green' open access).

If the publisher-imposed embargo exceeds your funder allowed maximum, you may need to pay for open access (gold)."
