Summary:

"A PhD studentship position has become available in Open Research Data Metrics.

The Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group (http://cybermetrics.wlv.ac.uk/) of the University of Wolverhampton invites applications for a 3 year University of Wolverhampton PhD studentship in the area of Open Research Data Metrics.

This PhD is hosted by the Statistical Cybermetrics Research Group at the University of Wolverhampton. Most of the group’s research was categorised as 'World leading' in the most recent research evaluation (REF2014). It is a small but vibrant team with a high success rate for PhD students. Applications from underrepresented groups are welcome.

Data for various aspects of the research process are routinely used in research monitoring and evaluation. In the past, such data has been exclusively available from a limited set of proprietary sources but the social web has seen an expansion of possibilities to collect new data. This is set to explode with the introduction of new initiatives for open data sharing. This PhD will develop new indicators based on emerging data sources and to evaluate them for research evaluation and monitoring purposes.

This is a funded bursary which will consist of a stipend towards living expenses (£14,500 per year) and remission of fees."
