Bungie's "play the way you want but actually it's play the way we want you to play" philosophy since Shadowkeep's release has been one of their biggest misfires that has ultimately killed any enjoyment of the game.

Very sad to see the state the game is in right now with all the upcoming nerfs, artifact enabled Trials and the new Director's Cut being more empty, meaningless promises for a game with so much potential, among all the other issues that have plagued the game since Shadowkeep launched, all my excitement for Season of the Worthy is about as lively as Cayde. Sure, I'll still play the game at least casually, because the gameplay is good enough that I don't totally feel like I'm suffering while playing, but I could just move on to other, better games that actually are rewarding me for my time playing them (shoutout to Monster Hunter World).

Edit: I'm fully ready to eat my words if this next season turns out to be something and then the love/hate cycle shall repeat once more, but for now, expectations have been set.
