"This year during International Open Access Week (October 23-29, 2017), IU Libraries Scholars' Commons, in partnership with IU Press and the Office of Scholarly Publishing, will host a variety of engaging events for IU faculty, postdocs, graduate students and authors on topics of interest that support Open Access for research. Open access is essential to scholarship, as it raises the visibility and accessibility of findings and promotes global collaboration and participation in the process of discovery. Open Access Week, a global event now entering its tenth year, is an opportunity for the academic and research community to continue to learn about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in working to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research. IU Libraries is dedicated to Open Access principles, and provides a range of services supporting open scholarship and research transparency. IU Libraries and IU Press collaboratively publish open access journals through the joint Office of Scholarly Publishing.The Office of Scholarly Publishing at IU Libraries will celebrate Open Access week through initiatives such as:"
