Summary:

"Researchers now have access to over one million ebooks from the University Libraries. Ebooks are an amazing resource that are available to the entire Virginia Tech community. To celebrate this landmark achievement, here is Part 4 of a new series titled “Ebooks for Everyone.”   HathiTrust is a partnership of 120 major research institutions and libraries which share a common goal: to ensure that our cultural record is preserved and accessible long into the future. The mission of HathiTrust is to contribute to research and scholarship by collaboratively collecting, organizing, preserving, communicating, and sharing the record of human knowledge.   The collection contains records and full text for over seven million scanned books, journals, and other publications from universities and libraries around the world. Readers can download ebooks for materials that have aged out of copyright (mostly pre-1923), but newer content is also available."
