"The European Commission wants to set up a European science cloud, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). 69 Research stakeholders have expressed their support, from Germany the Leibniz Association, the Council for Social and Economic Data and the ZB MED. A total of 69 advocate the development of such a cloud. According to the European Commission, the EOSC should 'create a secure environment for the storage and dissemination of research data in order to strengthen European research in its global leadership role'."
