"The magazine "Gates Open Research" uses the model of F1000Research, like the Welcome Trust magazine called Wellcome Open Research . Research institutions are launching platforms and would like to take the lead on journals of learned societies.  These journals of learned societies adopted a hybrid model before adopting a fully Open Access model with an Article Processing Charge (APC) at a level of $ 2 to $ 4,000."
