Not just any picture, video or music that is available on the net can be used without hesitation. However, some authors are well aware that their works are used for creative purposes and release their content under a specific license governing the right of use. This unit focuses on Creative Commons or CC licenses for short. Being able to deal competently with new media also means knowing how to use content on the Internet and reuse it for your own purposes.

Students first study the various Creative Commons licenses using infographics, test their knowledge in an online quiz, and then practically apply it by creating a photo collage of CC-licensed images.

Involvement in educational practice: This descriptive introduction to the subject of CC licenses is particularly suitable for - for example, before the own media production in the class - sensitizing pupils to the topic of copyright and can be applied in every subject. On the other hand, making a photo collage fits very well into the subject of art.
