OpenCon 2018 Announced -- Exclusive Discount for SPARC Members 

SPARC has just announced that OpenCon 2018—the flagship global meeting of the OpenCon community—will be take place on November 2-4 in Toronto, where it will be hosted in partnership with York University, Ryerson University, and the University of Toronto. We hope you will consider sponsoring a representative from your campus to attend!

As a benefit of membership, SPARC members will receive an exclusive $250 discount on sponsored scholarships to OpenCon. These sponsored scholarships, limited to 40 from each continent, guarantee a place at the meeting for a representative of your institution that you select and include the cost of conference registration, shared accommodations, and airfare which SPARC will book on behalf of your selected participant. For 2018, these scholarships are $2,250 for North American SPARC members ($2,500 for non-members). For Canadian members, the CAD price will be pegged at an exchange rate of $1.25 CAD/USD (unless the exchange rate drops below this level), making the cost CAD $2,812 for SPARC members and CAD $3,150 for non-members.
