"In the run-up to a meeting of the Legal Affairs Committee of the EU Parliament (JURI), the Electronic Frontier Foundation (eff) and prominent heads of the networld are renewing their criticisms of the upload filters foreseen by the proposed EU copyright reform. Automated filters the open Internet will transform into a "tool of monitoring and user control," it says in an open letter to the critic to Parliament. Among the signatories of the letter in addition to the Internet pioneer Tim Berners-Lee and Vint Cerf also includes security expert Bruce Schneier, Python inventor Guido von Rossum and Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales."
