SSH community survey about Open Access needs

Kirstine's bookmarks 2021-05-31

OPERAS’ mission is to coordinate and federate resources in Europe to efficiently address the scholarly communication needs of European researchers in the field of social sciences and humanities. A special focus should be on gaining support from all stakeholders and target audiences. The OPERAS Advocacy Special Interest Group has a strong focus on empowering communities to influence decision-making processes. As part of its efforts to improve and develop the Open Access publishing ecosystem, the OPERAS Advocacy Special Interest Group has created a survey with the following four questions:

  1. What can be done to address some researchers’ concerns about the quality of Open Access publication venues?
  2. Can you provide suggestions on how to make it a conventional practice to use licences that allow reuse and distribution of research results?
  3. What can be done to help researchers more easily identify Open Access publishing options that are most relevant for them?
  4. What informational resources and training would you like OPERAS to provide for you or your organization?

You can access the survey here: https://nettskjema.no/a/204463

Your answers will help us develop services and tools, training and advocacy materials and change the research landscape to a more open scholarly communication system where knowledge produced in the social sciences and humanities benefits researchers, academics, students and more generally the whole society across Europe and worldwide, without barriers.

The survey closes on 13 June 2021.
