Open Science undoubtedly has the power to positively influence society. It can make science more collaborative, reproducible, transparent and powerful.

However, its implementation is not yet universal. A revolution is needed: one that opens up research processes and changes mindsets in favour of a world where policies, tools and infrastructures universally support growth and knowledge sharing.

Research libraries are in a good position to make that revolution happen, and LIBER, as the largest network of research libraries in Europe, wants to support them in that effort. That is why LIBER has written a roadmap for Open Science that describes the specific actions that libraries can take to defend Open Science, both within and outside their own institutions.
