The day was inaugurated by the Director of the Foundation, Jesús Sánchez Martos who was accompanied by the coordinator of the Madri + d Foundation, José de la Sota and Álvaro Bort, from the Area of ​​Technology Transfer and European Programs. The Director highlighted the Foundation's support for optimizing the impact of scientific research and open access as an instrument to achieve it, so that the visibility of European research can be promoted. He highlighted the open access of all scientific publications as an exercise of transparency and service to citizens, advocating free and universal access to scientific information.

In this sense, the statements of the Canadian scientist, John Willinsky, when affirming in an interesting interview published yesterday in El País, taking advantage of his recent visit to the Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of the CSIC, that access to scientific knowledge is a right human, coming to propose an editorial model compatible with open science. The Stanford professor stressed that in the digital era all this is possible.

The Director of the Foundation went further, and pointed out that even such free access should be applied to those investigations that do not achieve the expected results as a way to show what mistakes should not be made and how to avoid them.

This training day is part of the training activities in the Area of ​​Technology Transfer and European Programs, which the Madri + d Foundation has been developing since 2007 for both researchers and managers. The training program aims to improve participation in the Framework Program of attendees, demonstrating our commitment to the scientific community and the management of research and innovation both in the Community of Madrid and in the rest of the country. its participation in Horizon 2020...."
