Open Access Repository Workshop held in Yadanabon University, 14-16 May | Myanmar Digital News

"With the joint sponsorship of University of Washington, Arizona State University, Northern Illinois University and Yadanabon University, under the program the Myanmar Librarian Training Consortium 2017-2018, the Open Access Repository Workshop was held at the Presentation Room of Yadanabon University yesterday morning.    

The workshop was held in order to promote the abilities and talents of teachers and librarians and to develop academic and scholarly resources and curriculums in universities throughout the country. In addition the workshop focused on enhancing the overall quality of Myanmar’s libraries.     At the workshop, the Deputy Rector of Yadanabon University Dr. Si Si Khin gave opening remarks and Dr. Ralph Barnhart Gabbard from the Arizona State University explained the program and purpose of The Myanmar Librarian Training Consortium 2017-2018 and the main themes of the Open Access Repository Workshop.     In addition, Ms. Elizabeth H. Bedford from the University of Washington clarified the ways on how to use Open Access in research and libraries and about Open Access Journals.     The workshop will continue on 16 May from 10 am to 4 pm."
