"...Our sixth #makeithappen business story is Scienceroot, the startup founded by two Romanians aiming to create a global scientific ecosystem that helps researchers find funds and promote their work, while increasing the pace at which quality research is being done across the world. Its vision for the future, its courage to dream big and go global is what inspired us to share their story. The start-up was launched in October by 2017 by two Romanians in Timisoara. Both Alexandru Chirita and Vlad Gunther are 27 years old and have embarked on a challenging quest of putting together all the pieces in the research puzzle. And they are treating their business with the same rigor as a researcher as the stakes are very high.

The total size of the global scientific, technical and medical (STM) market was estimated by Outsell at USD 25.2 billion in 2013 and is predicted to grow at about 4 percent annually, said the founders in the whitepaper of the platform.

“Our goal is to create a blockchain-based scientific ecosystem that combines all the requirements of a researcher. Having everything in one place and not spread out through different platforms, is time-saving and efficient. Not only the quality, but also the pace at which scientific content is produced will rise. Blockchain provides with an immutable database that can store a chain of events, which is perfect when it comes to documenting science.
