Summary:

97% of Bulgarian children use the Internet, 94% of them daily. That may not be cause for alarm in itself, but according to Georgi Apostolof, a representative from the “Center for safe Internet,” there are many problems with parental control and abuse in the web space that youngsters experience on the www.  He said: “In the last six years, there’s a significant increase in the harassment of children both on the Internet and outside of it. The study shows that in the last year, over 80% of the kids received messages they deem threatening, with the highest percentage being of kids aged 9 to 11 -86%. But only 56% of parents claim their children share such cases with them."
