Linking Service to Open Access Repositories

Malgorzata's bookmarks 2018-06-22

Summary:

Link resolvers are extremely effective tools that offer appropriate means of obtaining primary documents from licensed e-journals, open access journals, library print holdings and through Interlibrary Loan requests. Link resolver software and services are now available from a number of vendors and have been deployed in many types of organizations all over the world. However, link resolvers have not been offering satisfactory article-level resolution for Open Access (OA) documents that have been accumulated in repositories such as arXiv1 and RePEc,2 and in institutional repositories (IR).
