The Library & Archives Service of this major international postgraduate medical school is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative individual to develop, deliver and promote Scholarly Communications across the institution, and to manage LSHTM Research Online, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine’s institutional repository for research publications. The successful candidate will have proven experience of effectively delivering support for open access publishing and of managing an institutional repository, and demonstrable knowledge of best practice and innovation in scholarly communication and of the administration of article processing charges.
The Library & Archives Service seeks to provide excellent information-related services, resources and support to LSHTM’s staff and students, and to contribute to a creative and supportive working environment in line with LSHTM’s values. The Library & Archives Service also welcomes external researchers and visitors who wish to consult its specialist collections.
The Library & Archives Service provides an excellent standard of customer service in the delivery of services to users, and offers an extensive programme of information skills teaching and support. It facilitates access to a comprehensive collection of printed and electronic material in the fields of public and global health, and provides support for open access publishing within LSHTM. The archives of LSHTM date from the mid-nineteenth century and consist of correspondence and personal papers of scientific, medical and global health professionals. The service also provides a records management service and support for research data management within LSHTM.
The salary will be on the Professional salary scale Grade 6 in the range £40,011 - £45,437 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The post is full time permanent.
