The Leibniz Institute for Psychology (ZPID) in Trier (Germany) is an internationally renowned research support organization in psychology and a member of the prestigious Leibniz Association.

Team Leader (m/f/d) Information and Retrieval Services

(salary group TV-L E15, full position, initially limited to 2 years)

Preferred start date is March 1, 2021 or later.

Duties and functions:

  • Leading a motivated and age-diverse team of psychologists and information technicians
  • Implementing the strategic vision for the Information and Retrieval Services Department: http://dx.doi.org/10.23668/psycharchives.2415
  • Organizing and optimizing workflows of existing information products, among them PSYNDEX, PSYNDEX Tests, and the Open Test Archive
  • Initiating and managing user and usability research for information products and services
  • Initiating and managing the development of new information products and services and the utilization of automatic procedures for these products and services
  • Identifying promising partners for data cooperations and managing common projects
  • Publishing development and monitoring results in academic journals and presenting them at national and international conferences
  • Preparing research proposals and funding applications

Your profile:

  • PhD or master level degree in information science, knowledge engineering, computational linguistics, or in a related area
  • Solid understanding of linked open data, knowledge modeling, knowledge graphs, and associated software
  • Solid understanding of semantic technologies and standards, e.g., RDF, SKOS, SPARQL
  • Solid understanding of requirements and formats for bibliographic databases
  • Interest in the deployment of machine learning for information products and services
  • Excellent German and English skills (spoken and written)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Distinctive communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong ability to relate to the requirements of stakeholders from psychology and to translate them into projects, products, and services
  • Documented experience in the fields mentioned in this profile and publications in academic journals are beneficial
