OPERAS welcomes University of Rennes

OPERAS 2023-10-17

We are glad to welcome the Presses of Universitaires de Rennes as new ordinary member of the OPERAS community.

Since their foundation in 1984, the mission of the Presses Universitaires de Rennes has been to interweave the rigour of science with the need to disseminate it to the broadest possible sectors of society. This knot is based on a dual conviction that must be maintained day after day: on the one hand, the conviction that publication is the place where the sciences are put to the test and where they prove themselves (the test of criticism and discussion, the proof of rationality and argumentation); on the other hand, the conviction that solid, clear and distinct publication is the privileged instrument, not only to develop knowledge but also to educate, instruct and emancipate all citizens.

“For the Presses Universitaires de Rennes, joining Operas is an opportunity to make the voice of a French publisher heard at European level, to highlight the importance of editorial diversity. By editorial diversity, we mean the complementary nature of the ways in which scientific publications exist (paper and digital formats), and of the ways in which they are distributed and financed in accordance with the principles of open science, in order to reach the widest possible audience..” Pierre-Henry Frangne, director of the Presses universitaires de Rennes

Presses Universitaires de Rennes will contribute to the Open Access Business Models Special Interest Group.

We are looking forward to further collaborations.
