The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW, http://www.bbaw.de/) is seeking two research software developers in the field of digital humanities/digital editions.

The BBAW is the largest non-university research institute in the region of Berlin-Brandenburg, lays in the heart of Berlin with over 300 years of history. Today, the academy incubates many research projects in the field of digital scholarly editions and cultural heritage; those projects are developed and published digitally in close collaboration between humanities researchers and the in-house DH department TELOTA, where both vacant positions will be affiliated.

# Position 1 (TELOTA, http://www.bbaw.de/telota/telota) / 100% (24 months):

The main tasks are conceptualizing, developing and maintaining research software in the field of DH, also taking a part in the development of programming interfaces (APIs) and data models for digital scholarly editions. The position requires a university degree in DH, humanities, or another relevant discipline, experience with DH relevant standards (e.g. TEI Guidelines P5), with X-technologies (XML, XPath, XQuery and XSLT), and XML databases (mainly eXist-db), as well as knowledge of another programming languages (e.g. Python, PHP or Java).

# Position 2 (Corpus Nummorum Online, https://www.corpus-nummorum.eu) / 100% (until 30 June 2021)

The major tasks of this position is conceptualizing, developing and maintaining the Corpus Nummorum web portal and the editing platform, as well as the development of exchange formats and programming interfaces (APIs). The position requires a relevant university degree (e.g. DH, history etc), experience in developing web applications using PHP frameworks (preferably Laravel) and SQL databases (MySQL), as well as a very good command of English.
