According to the California Employment Development Department, nurses with a BSN received an average annual salary of $94,300 in 2014, about $18,000 more than RNs with an associate’s degree in nursing (i.e., $76,731).[1] Additionally, in 2013, nurses with a BSN received 82.8 percent higher annual salaries than licensed vocational nurses, who received $51,600 a year.
