Hospital Credential Requiring BSN Nurses
cmurdock's bookmarks 2019-01-08
Summary:
Administrators should note hospitals often seek nurses with a BSN to receive credentials from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Hospitals requires 100 percent of nursing managers and leaders to hold a bachelor’s-level nursing degree or higher to receive the ANCC “magnet” designation, a prestigious recognition for health care organizations.[1] Recruit registered nurses from local magnet facilities, as these nurses most often require a bachelor’s degree for career advancement. Twenty magnet facilities operate within 80 miles of California State University-Northridge’s campus (e.g., Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Keck Hospital of USC).[2]
