"Technological advancements have changed rapidly the way Scientific Research is performed. Modern electronic Infrastructures and digital services have enabled the transition from traditional to high-performance Research, paving the way towards scientific Innovation, to the benefit of the citizens worldwide. Still, knowledge exchange and digital service and data availability beyond geographical borders and scientific domains remains limited, preventing global Research from producing maximum outputs.

Τhe European Commission tackles these barriers by leading the activities for the creation of the European Open Science Cloud. EOSC is a trusted, integrated virtual environment that provides seamless access to data and interoperable services, enabling millions of scientists to access, store, manage, analyze, share and reuse research data, across borders and scientific disciplines. In this effort, NI4OS-Europe project is a key contributor: it provides integrated solutions to support the EOSC Governance, contribute to its portfolio of services and engage the regional research communities, enabling innovation and inclusiveness in Science.
