Summary:

We are pleased to announce that there are now 100 journals on the Bangladesh Journals Online (BanglaJOL)! BanglaJOL features journals with research conducted in, and relevant to, Bangladesh. Since it launched in 2007, BanglaJOL has been growing steadily and now contains almost 10,000 articles across the 100 journals. Having been managed by INASP since it began, BanglaJOL began the process of moving towards being locally managed and hosted in May of 2012. This is an important step in the sustainability of the project and over the past nine months it has showed no signs of slowing down. There have been 19 journals added over this period and 2.3 million articles downloaded. The JOLs projects also include: Latin America Journals Online (LAMJOL), Mongolia Journals Online (MongoliaJOL), Nepal Journals Online (NepJOL), Sri Lanka Journals Online (SLJOL). As of 2013 there were 240 journals across the JOLs, with almost 20,000 articles of which 88% are open access full text. The accessibility and popularity of the JOLs projects have a seen a steady increase in use with over 12.6 million downloads since 2007.
