Summary:

"The FORCE2015 Research Communication and e-Scholarship Conference brings together researchers, scholars, librarians, archivists, information scientists, publishers, and research funders in a lively forum – to broaden awareness of current efforts across disciplines, but also to define the future through discussions, challenge projects, demonstrations, and the seeding of new partnerships and collaborations. Individually and collectively, we aim to bring about a positive change in scholarly communications through both the effective use of information technology and a deeper understanding of the nature of evolving scholarly practice. The FORCE2015 conference will be held 12-13 January, 2015, at the University of Oxford, UK.  On the preceding day, 11 January 2015, there will be workshops, informal and formal collaborations, and business meetings associated with the main conference.  You may submit requests for hosting a meeting on Sunday here.   FORCE2015 conference is successor to two highly successful Beyond the PDF events. It is organized by FORCE11, a group of stakeholders that arose organically from the first Beyond the PDF workshop, held at the University of California, San Diego, in January 2011, and a follow on Future of Research Communications workshop held at Dagstuhl that same year. Beyond the PDF 2 was held in Amsterdam in March 2013 and established the lively format for the 2015 event. We actively engage the membership of FORCE11 to shape and evolve this series of events, as the conference itself provides a platform for those interested in creating new modes of conference organization and participation. As is tradition of the FORCE11, we take our lead from the community, see community input here:  SURVEY RESULTS ..."
