"Increasing attention is being given to issues around the research data that accompanies published results, with the new requirements of funders, especially, following the OSTP memorandum, causing much debate. However this is not an area that publishers have previously given much attention to, and there seems a danger of them being bypassed. In this second post from our interview with Jan Velterop, we focus on data stewardship, which he believes is one of the key challenges that everyone in the ecosystem of science (he often calls it ‘ego-system’) should be thinking hard about at the moment – publishers included ..."
