Open access policy | Wellcome Trust

It is a fundamental part of our charitable mission to ensure that the work we fund can be read and utilised by the widest possible audience. We therefore support unrestricted access to the published outputs of research through our open access policy. Sir Mark Walport introduces open access at the Wellcome Trust.  The links below provide more information on the policy including details of how Wellcome Trust grantholders should comply.  The Trust is extending its open access policy to include scholarly monographs and book chapters. The extended policy will apply to holders of grants awarded after 1st October 2013, and become effective for existing grant-holders from October 2014.
