[From Google's English] "Progress in India towards the road of ' open science . The Ministry of Science and Technology of India has, in fact, just announced that it will ask its researchers to deposit their research in archives accessible to all. This request is addressed to research groups that receive funding from the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), two of the major scientific agencies of the country. The total number of people employed in research and development in India is about 296 300 people, of which 41,200 women (13.9%). Whereas India's population reaches one billion people, in terms of relative numbers this translates to 262 researchers per million inhabitants. Indian scientists produce about 2:16% of scientific publications (including the contribution of India to the Agriculture sector amounted to 7.4%, 2.2% Mathematics, Chemistry 1.99%, 1.97% of Earth Sciences and Engineering 1.93%) The researchers will be required to submit documents in a repositor y within 2 weeks from acceptance by a peer-reviewed journal, but if the magazine requires an embargo, the system will not make available the study until the end of the same."
