Summary:

"Jisc would like to consult you about your institution’s interest in joining a UK ORCID consortium membership agreement. ORCID is an international, interdisciplinary, open, not-for-profit organisation. Its core function is to provide a registry of unique, persistent, and resolvable person identifiers together with web services to enable interoperability through integration of identifiers into your research systems and workflows. To take part in the consultation you are advised to first read our ORCID consultation paper before completing the survey. 1. The ORCID consultation paper is available here. This paper provides information on the ORCID initiative, current ORCID adoption rates in the UK, the ORCID consortium membership model, costs, and Jisc’ s role as the consortium lead; 2. To get your feedback on whether or not you would become a member of a UK ORCID consortium, we have set up a short survey. It should only take you 5-10 minutes to complete. The survey is available here. This consultation builds on and draws from liaison with the higher education sector and the Jisc-ARMA ORCID pilot.  If you have any queries, please contact the Jisc Collections Helpdesk."
