As a large international organisation, it is also a producer of a great amount of data and information that users around the world want to access. In this week’s Program and Budget Committee (PBC) meeting, the WIPO Secretariat has included mention of a Creative Commons-based project it is joining, as part of 'The WIPO Open Access Policy'. The small reference to the project is found in item 19.4.iii on page 130 of the hefty document WO/PBC/24/11 ... Asked about the programme, a WIPO press officer downplayed it a bit, saying it is part of a broader initiative of various international agencies of which WIPO is one.
