"The Munin Conference is an annual conference on scholarly publishing and communication - primarily revolving around Open Access, Open Data and Open Science. This year’s conference is the tenth Munin Conference and will be held November 30th to December 1st in Tromsø, at UiT - The Arctic University of Norway. Amongst this years speakers you will find top international keynotes like Randy Schekman and Stuart Shieber. Professor Schekman was a Nobel Laureate in Physiology/Medicine in 2013. He has strongly criticized closed-access journals like Nature, Cell and Science, citing their self-serving and deleterious effects on science. Professor Shieber has led Harvard’s efforts to institute open-access policies. This work has resulted in the policies now in place at Harvard, which have been repeatedly emulated elsewhere. Together with keynotes Sabine Hossenfelder (Nordita), Peter Suber (Harvard and SPARC - via video link) and 15 other presentations, they will raise and debate both controversial and groundbreaking questions related to scholarly publishing. Attendants at the Munin conference consists of librarians working on Open Access and publishing issues, research administrators, in addition to researchers and students. The conference usually has around 120 participants representing 10-15 different countries from Europe and beyond ..."
