Rapid and open data sharing strategically supports the Institute’s mission by enabling research and accelerating translation. The Sanger Institute never shares identifiable information about any of those who participate in its research and has strict measures in place to ensure that the privacy of research participants is protected. These measures include anonymising human genomic data and managing access to data so that only bone fide researchers from legitimate research organisations may access human data.
