Summary:

"Researchers will soon be able to use IRIS to store and record information about their research impact. The University has also invested in a new module for monitoring open access deposition. A prototype Impact Module for IRIS will be tested during January 2016 and installed for researchers to use in the spring. A series of training sessions for researchers, departmental administrators and Impact Coordinators will be run throughout next year. The new Open Access Monitor simplifies OA policy compliance for research institutions. Open Access policies are being implemented by both institutions and their funders worldwide. In the UK, from April 2016, HEFCE will require the deposit of all eligible journal articles to an institutional or subject repository. The new Open Access Monitor will help the Library to monitor and track who has deposited publications, to ensure researchers’ work remains within such policy requirements, and to provide reports to departments. Administrators can only track items that have been entered into IRIS, so it is important that your IRIS profile is up to date ..."
