" ... Therefore, in the Danish society's interest to create the right incentives so that Open Access potential can be repaid. With this potential in mind published the Education and Research Ministry in 2014 an ambitious national Open Access strategy ... The first measurement in a newly developed Open Access barometer shows that there are currently only accessible to 18 percent of the over 20,000 articles that are within the strategy subject field. Although the measurement is based on data from 2014 - and the strategy is not at the time was penetrated - we are far from the goal of free access to all scientific articles in Denmark.  The Danish universities are all active in the field and working with new strategies for implementation of Open Access. But 18 percent is still a bit disappointing result - in my view. Especially because we could go much further if the researchers took advantage of their right to parallelarkivere articles in a digital archive accessible to the public via the Internet. According to the barometer could be up against another approximately 60 percent articles to Open Access if this right were exercised.  We therefore face a huge task of creating motivation among researchers to share their knowledge with the rest of society, and in this context can draw inspiration from abroad ..."
