[From Google's English] "April 14, USI has signed the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities ( Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities ), which constitutes a milestone in the movement Open Access 2020 . The document sets out the ' commitment by the signatory institutions to support open access as a fundamental tool for the dissemination of knowledge and the dissemination of scientific research results. The initiative was launched in 2003 and currently has more than 550 academic istitutituzioni from around the world. By signing the Declaration, these are committed to meeting the challenges of the Internet as an emerging functional means for the dissemination of knowledge. For the creators of the initiative, in fact, the development of the Internet will be able to have a significant impact both on the nature of scientific publishing as the existing system of assessment of scientific quality."
