Summary:

Use the link for further information about DevSCI (Developer Community Supporting Innovation) and the upcoming Developer Challenge including entry, rules, judging, awards, and examples from previous challenges. The website offers the following description of DevSCI: “DevCSI is about helping software developers realise their full potential, by creating the conditions for them to be able to learn, network effectively, share ideas, collaborate and innovate creating a ‘community’ of developers in the learning provider sector which is greater than the sum of its parts. The developer benefits. The sector benefits. One important thrust of DevCSI activity is to run and/or support events for and by developers and to encourage a community to form around these shared activities. DevCSI is managed by UKOLN and funded by the JISC.” The Developer Challenge at OR 2012 is “Show us some thing new and cool in the world of Open Repositories.” “The deadline for your initial entry will be Tuesday 10th July 2012, at 10am. So you will have plenty time to start working on your entry before the conference. We will want you to present initial ideas to an audience at OR 12, to get feedback and then re-present again in front of judges, see below for further details. Individuals / Teams must post their initial entry / idea / intention to enter using the Developer Challenge 2012 Ideas page by Tuesday 10th of July 2012, 1000 (GMT).”
