Eloy Rodrigues in La Plata: interoperability and digital repositories | PICTO BONAERENSE
[From Google's English] "During the 8th and August 9th, 2013 took place in the city of La Plata the Seminar "Interoperability in open access digital repositories" , issued by Eloy Rodrigues , director of the Documentation Services of the University of Minho (Portugal) and coordinator of the Working Group COAR repository interoperability. This training, part of Module 3, Block 3.3 Course "Institutional Digital Repositories: Design, implementation and optimization of a strategic resource for the Universities" , was organized by the project "Research and development in institutional repositories: applications and experiences in universities Buenos Aires region "(PICT-O-CIN 2010-149). Participated in the same 60 people from diverse national universities and scientific institutes belonging to CONICET, CONEA staff and IPAP. On Thursday 8 after the presentation of the attendees, began with an introduction to the main concepts related to interoperability and its importance to the repositories, highlighting areas of concern and challenges and initiatives in place. Then raised the issue of the collection of metadata through OAI-PMH and the use of guidelines to achieve interoperability (DRIVER, OpenAIRE, SNRD). In the afternoon, we introduced the topic of the transfer of content between systems (SWORD, CRIS). On the morning of Friday 9th, Prof. Rodrigues introduced the issue of persistent identifiers for both digital objects (Handle, DOI) and for the names of authors and organizations (AuthorClaim, FundRef, ISNI, ORCID, VIAF). Finally, there was space for questions, inquiries and reflections on the state of the IRs in Argentina and their progress in terms of issues related to interoperability."
