Summary:
"Social science research institutions, funding agencies and researchers in developed and developing countries are faced with institutional and individual options and decisions about transition to open access scholarly communications in digital environments. This panel will present case studies and analysis of open access initiatives from the developed and developing world that promote a collaborative networking approach to open access to knowledge as a commons, avoiding new enclosures to knowledge dissemination and sharing.
This panel is co-organized by the Latin America Social Science Council (CLACSO), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the International Development Economic Associates (IDEAs).
INASP-International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications sponsors participation of CLACSO for the organization and coordinator of this panel."
