Summary:

"The faculty of Bryn Mawr College approved an open access policy that will enable their scholarly articles to be made available freely to the public. Under the policy, which was made by faculty vote on December 11, faculty members grant to Bryn Mawr the nonexclusive right to disseminate their articles through the College open access repository, Scholarship, Research, and Creative Work at Bryn Mawr College, which was established in 2012. Bryn Mawr’s policy expands the College commitment to promoting its faculty members’ scholarly work and facilitating its dissemination to the global academic community as well as to the public at large. In implementing this open access policy, Bryn Mawr joins over 40 other colleges and universities that have passed similar policies since 2008, including, among others, Harvard, MIT, Oberlin, Duke, University of Kansas, Emory, Bucknell, Princeton, Wellesley, Amherst, and the University of California. Over 500 faculty articles are currently available in the College repository, and this policy will ensure that the number continues to grow. Scholarship, Research, and Creative Work at Bryn Mawr College can be found at http://repository.brynmawr.edu/."
