Summary:

"Lynne M. Thomas, curator of Rare Books and Special Collections and associate professor, will give a presentation next month on the Open Access to Research Articles Act. The talk is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the staff lounge on the lower level of Founders Memorial Library. Open Access allows scholarly authors to maintain greater control over their publishing rights while providing the public free access to research without the constraint of costly journal subscriptions. Participants will learn how Open Access practices can help your publications get more notice, and how NIU might consider handling the requirements of the 2013 law. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (815) 753-9838 or email libraryfriend@niu.edu ..."
