Summary:

" ... We are very pleased to announce the launch of our new and ambitious initiative: OpenMENA! OpenMENA is a work group within the Open Knowledge Foundation global community network that aims at bringing the values of an open and more collaborative society to the Middle East and North Africa. We want to include the wider open community, so do share this with people who care about open more generally: we’re making change together. We are also delighted to invite you to take part to the International Open Data Day, happening worldwide on 22 February. Because what’s better than kicking off OpenMENA with some actual activities. On the menu: contributing to assess governments openness, increasing free and shareable Arabic content on the web, cataloguing what is in your yogurt,… Join us! We’re very excited about starting OpenMENA and hope you are too. Take a look at the announcement and do share with your groups and others who may be interested. Keep watching the blog for more updates and get involved! ..."
