" ... Staff are urged to attend an important event next week which will explore the impact of the Open Access agenda on Goldsmiths and features David Sweeney, Director of Research, Innovation and Skills from our national funding body HEFC.
On Thursday May 22 at 5pm, David Sweeney, Director of Research, Innovation and Skills from our national funding body HEFC, is coming to Goldsmiths discuss with us the national Open Access policies, which will be followed by a panel discussion led by research active staff at Goldsmiths.

She added: 'Monographs, PhD theses and other practice-based outputs need not be made open access under the current RCUK and HEFCE regulations. However Goldsmiths as an institution is committed to the principles behind Open Access and we believe that we should be one of the first to make this a norm, when possible, rather than an exception' ..."
