Summary:

"We are interested in companies that use open data for the World Bank’s Open Data Africa Initiative. I am contacting you on behalf of Digital Divide Data (DDD). DDD is conducting research for the World Bank’s Open Data Africa Initiative – in South Africa we are using HANGAR49 Pty LTD. The World Bank is interested in private sector firms using big data and open data for commercial purposes, and they are possibly going to start an Open Data investment fund to support such companies. As part of the exploration, the Bank Group would like to conduct research about the likely size and nature of potential investment opportunities in Africa. We would be interested in interviewing you for this project and learning more about your use of open data and overall finances. All of the information you share with us will not be released, only aggregated data will be made available to the public in a final World Bank report. Your important contribution to this initiative will be the catalyst for the Bank to explore the development of an Open Data Fund to support the growth of open data-driven businesses in Africa. Looking forward to being connect with such businesses in order to get some insight. For more details on this initiative or to get involved, please contact: Alon Lichtenstein CEO HANGAR49 LinkedIn / twitter +27 82 738 8418"
