"Open access continues to drive change to how we publish. With numerous transformational agreements in place, we were motivated to create a straightforward system to classify article types and their open access funding eligibility.

 

In this white paper, we describe the development and implementation of Wiley’s article-type taxonomy, which reduces the 29,000 article categories accumulated over decades of growth across a diverse portfolio with many stakeholders to just 30 Article Types, and we share the reasons for its development and consider the benefits to our stakeholders...."
