"The Federation of Finnish Learned Societies (TSV) organized a webinar on the Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information and OpenAlex database. The recording of the webinar is now available.
The Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information will be published in mid-April (16.4.). The signatories of the Declaration are committed to take a leading role in promoting the openness of research information.
During the webinar, which took place on April 2, professor Ludo Waltman (Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University) presented the key elements of the Barcelona Declaration, highlighted its relevance for the research enterprise and its connections to other policies that promote open science and research.
The webinar allowed participants to enhance their understanding about the Declaration as well as to discuss what the signing means from the point of view of Finnish organizations. Also, it offered an opportunity to deepen the participants' knowledge of OpenAlex, which is an open and comprehensive index of scholarly papers, citations, authors, institutions, and journals.
