Metascience (or research on research) provides an evidence-based approach to understanding and improving scientific practices. It is therefore a powerful lens through which to examine and refine the open research lifecycle. By systematically studying how science is done, we can identify and address challenges, improve research practices, and ultimately accelerate the pace of innovation. In recent years, metascience has acted as a compass for the open science movement, providing data-driven insights to guide the development of policies, practices, and tools that promote transparency, collaboration, and reproducibility in research...."
