January OpenCon Librarian Community Call

"Journal publishing is changing rapidly. Traditional metrics like downloads, cost per use, interlibrary loan requests, and annual cost increases aren’t enough when the choice is between supporting a subscription, hybrid, Subscribe to Open, or diamond open access journal. 

Librarians can make better decisions when they can determine how well a publisher aligns with library values around openness. That’s the goal of Library Partnership Rating (LPR): to pull together information available on publishers’ and other open websites that demonstrates how a publisher aligns with values of community, access, rights, discoverability & accessibility, and preservation. By pulling this information together and openly sharing it, LPR gives librarians more information to help them in their decision making.  Join us for our January 2025 Librarian Community call when Robin Sinn and Rachel Caldwell will describe LPR and how librarians can get involved!
